Parent Empowerment and Involvement

EduCare offers Parenting Workshops for parents and Parent Involvement Workshops for educators and youth service providers:

Parenting Workshops

Parenting Workshops are enjoyable and valuable explorations of strategies for parenting with greater confidence, effectiveness, and personal fulfillment. Through interactive processes, the workshops provide parents and guardians with tools for:

  • Building self-esteem in the home
  • Motivating and inspiring children (preventive discipline)
  • Improving communication and listening skills (conflict resolution)
  • Shifting stress to success
  • Fostering cooperation and positive attitudes
  • Increasing personal self-esteem
  • Creating a climate for positive and rewarding family relationships
  • Developing greater parental school involvement

EduCare’s Parenting Workshops can be offered to group sizes ranging from 15-250. The workshops are typically two to three hours in length and can be modified to suit the interests and concerns of particular parent groups.

Rather than just offering inspiration that may soon wear off, this workshop provides parents and guardians with practical skills and an experience of their own personal effectiveness.

Parent Involvement Workshops

Parent Involvement Workshops provide enjoyable and valuable training for educators and youth service providers so as to involve parents with greater confidence, effectiveness, and personal fulfillment.

Through interactive processes, the workshop provides participants with tools for:

  • Motivating parents and family members to become more involved
  • Developing communication, listening, and rapport building skills
  • Learning how to plan, design, and facilitate Parenting Workshops for your school or agency
  • Building personal self-esteem and confidence in presenting parent workshops
  • Assisting parents in building their:
    • self-esteem and nurturing skills
    • ability to communicate and help their children
    • desire to play a vital part in their children’s education
  • Creative problem solving with parents
  • Fostering cooperation and positive attitudes at school and at home
